Role: Mechanical Intern – Structure and Mechanisms

Mission: A passive small satellite system set to operate under low-earth orbit conditions within a target price of 5,000 USD.

Approach: Design and fabricate satellite structure and mechanisms using SolidWorks and OnShape. Run finite element analysis reports to ensure structure can support desired load (1200 N) and constraints of the satellite deployer. Prototype and create fit models using both mill and 3D printers. Establish a manufacturing flow process for third party suppliers for structure and mechanisms.
